about
Deceived By The Lights deals with our attraction to the bright lights of the big city, its unusual fusion of Drum and Bass rhythms with acoustic guitar attempting to convey the hazy confusion of a hedonistic night out. This is an updated version of a song I used to call 'The City & The Sea' which was part of my solo acoustic set some years ago. It has now been revamped to fit a new electronic live set up but still features the main riff from the original.
lyrics
There’s nothing in the city
Or in the sea (in the sea)
Someone always asking how much you earn
Find a parking space but you crash and burn
Spending all your time making plans than sink in the depth (of the sea)
There’s nothing in the city
Or in the sea (in the sea)
Someone always asking how much you earn
Hit a losing streak and the fortune turns
Spending all your time making plans that drift to the shore (of the sea)
There’s nothing in the city
Or in the sea (in the sea)
Sometimes I wonder how much I learn
Because I make the same mistakes when I get my turn
Spending all my time trying to get some sleep on the bed (of the sea)
